Lee Rothman focuses his practice on a variety of criminal defense matters, specializing in complex litigation of serious crime.

A practiced litigator, Lee handles matters in both state and federal court. He has represented clients charged with minor offenses to firearm and drug offenses, arson, manslaughter, and criminal homicide. Lee is no stranger to cases with difficult facts. He has gained full acquittals in two death penalty cases in western Pennsylvania. An almost impossible feat, as such cases often present insurmountable Commonwealth evidence. In addition, Lee was the first attorney to represent a midwife charged with involuntary manslaughter in Pennsylvania. Following a non-jury trial, his client was acquitted of all charges. Lee believes strongly in challenging governmental interference in his clients’ lives. He is revered as an aggressive defender of the constitutional rights of his clients.

Lee is a United States Army veteran, who attended the University of Pittsburgh receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in 1991. He received his Juris Doctorate from Widener University, School of Law in 1996, becoming an Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney upon his graduation. Lee partnered with Bill Difenderfer in 1997 and has been practicing as a criminal defense attorney throughout western Pennsylvania for over 20 years.
